Work at a Pizza Place is the #1 hit game on ROBLOX of all time created by Dued1. First launched in end of March 2008, the game so far has over 95 million place visits and is currently the most visited game on ROBLOX. As of now, it has over 656,000 favorites, 147,000 upvotes and 10,000 downvotes. The area of the game resembles a small town with a factory, 12 houses and a pizza parlour that is interconnected with each other through roads. The pizza parlour has different jobs related to making the pizza, such as being a cashier, a cook, a pizza boxer, or a pizza delivery person. Additionally, there is a supplier role. This game has once generated over 11,500 players playing the game at once!

Jobs

There are six jobs within the pizza parlour. These jobs are the cashier, cook, pizza boxer, delivery person, supplier and manager. You can also be unemployed ("On Break"), although you will not get any paychecks.

Manager

The manager is the head of the pizzeria and has several duties and powers. Managers are able to hand out bonus checks to hardworking employees, name an employee as Employee Of The Day, send employees back to work, and start votekick processes to remove trolls. The manager office is located next to pizza boxing machine. It is very small, with a desk, a wooden chair, a black executive chair, a houseplant, a mug of coffee and a lamp. The door is locked until the manager passes through it or player inside the office will leave it.
The manager is a one-person job, meaning there can only be one manager at a time, and no one else may become manager until the current manager quits. A manager may quit their job by clicking the "Quit Job" button, located on the panel of available options when you click on a player or leaving the game. Once a manager quits, other players can sit on the black executive chair in the manager's office and become the new manager instantly. When there is already a manager, it is impossible for others to sit on the executive chair.
Manager can lose his job by stepping on buttons at supplier warehouse, delivering pizzas or stepping on "Remove Manager" button.
If the manager is being tyrannical, unfair, or not doing their job, players may step on the "Remove Manager" button located in the closet near the manager's office. This will submit their vote to remove the manager. It usually takes around 5-7 votes for a manager to be fired. Players are encouraged to do this if the manager is constantly slacking off, or if they are being rude or abusive.
After the massive April 2014 update, the manager cannot downgrade raises (to stop abuse of the new cash system).

Cashier

Cashiers take orders from simulated customers which come in through the front door of the store and must be answered to within a few minutes. After clicking on the customer, there are three possible things the cashier can say. Two are troll messages and only one will allow the cashier to take the order. One example of a troll message is: "Welcome to Build a Bear Workshop." The cashier must listen to what the customer says and press the correct button on the cash register.
Certain answers are very tricky (for example, mentioning two pizzas but only ordering the last one), so the cashier must be careful not to jump to conclusions and press the wrong button. Also, cashiers have a very time-sensitive job since customers will leave if not answered to. This makes it important to have good cashiers.

Cook

The cook works in the heart of the pizzeria and is the player who must bake every pizza shown in the white board. The cook must make sure that the right ingredients are on the pizza and that it is properly prepared and baked. The cook is also responsible for getting Mountain Dews from the fridge, if any customers ordered one.
To make a pizza, first the cook checks the white board where orders are displayed. There are three kinds of pizza: cheese, sausage, and pepperoni. The cook starts by taking a pizza dough from the conveyor belt near the back of the kitchen and putting it on the table. There are four trays on the table: sauce, cheese, pepperoni, and sausage. To add ingredients, the cook should click on the right tray and drag the ingredient to the pizza dough. All pizzas require sauce and cheese, while the pepperoni and sausage are added onto the pizza if that kind of pizza was ordered.
After the cook adds all the ingredients to the dough, they take the dough and put it into the oven, where it will automatically bake and leave the kitchen. Keep in mind that if the pizza is the wrong kind or if it is missing ingredients, it will be rejected.
Although being a cook is easy, when new players join, they often don't understand how to make the pizzas correctly. If this happens, supplies will be wasted, so you must teach them how to do them correctly.

Boxer

The pizza boxers are responsible for taking pizzas from the kitchen and boxing them for delivery. The boxing machine is located right outside the manager's office. Pizza boxers take the pizza from a rotating conveyor belt, drag them to a box, and then shut the box. Then they place the finished pizza on the conveyor belt that leads to the delivery table. Mountain Dew does not need to be boxed, and can be put straight onto the conveyor belt. However, make sure the Mountain Dew is sideways before placing it on the conveyor belt, because they will block the entrance to the delivery table.
One thing that should be noted is that there are often dozens of pizzas on the roof right above the boxing machine. This is because boxers sometimes accidentally drag the pizza above the pizzeria. If a boxer has their camera tilted just right, they can actually drag those pizzas back down from the roof and box them, which is a good way to make some extra money when no pizzas are coming in from the kitchen.

Delivery

Pizza deliverers are responsible for taking the finished pizzas and Mountain Dew drinks, and delivering them to a correct house. Each house has a house number (e.g.: "A1", "B2", "C3") and each order will have one of these numbers. The deliverer is responsible for driving over to the correct house and taking their order to the front door, where it will be delivered to the owner. If the deliverer shows up in front of the door with a wrong pizza, there will be no penalty.
Delivery is one of the most crucial jobs of the pizzeria. This is because of the way employees are paid. When a pizza is delivered, everyone earns money for it - so if there are no deliveries, then nobody will be paid even if everyone else is doing their job correctly. This makes delivery the difference between a $20 paycheck and a $500+ paycheck for each employee. It is important to have good delivery people who know to take advantage of the daily "Double Time" event, where each delivery earns everyone twice as much money.

Supplier

The supplier is the player responsible for transporting the pizza ingredients from the warehouse to the pizzeria using large trucks. The supplies are dough, sauce, cheese, pepperoni, sausage, Mountain Dew drinks and boxes. If these supplies (dough, cheese, sauce) run out, no more pizzas can't be made, so the supplier must always watch for any ingredients that are running low.
There are two boards that show the amount of each ingredient: one in the pizzeria's loading dock and the other in the warehouse. The supplier can check these boards to know what ingredients they need to get. At the warehouse, there are buttons which the supplier can press to get boxes of ingredients, which they must load into supply trucks. Afterward, the supplier must drive the truck back to the pizzeria and put supply boxes on the conveyor belt.
Because the pizzeria depends on having ingredients, the supplier is one of the most important jobs in the game. Suppliers have to have a good knowledge of supply and demand to keep up with the pizzeria's needs. They also have to know how to stack the supplies so there are no "loose" boxes, which may make the truck fling out of the map. Finally, they have to be able to get the ingredients to the pizzeria before the boxes despawn, which is hard if the roads are crowded with delivery cars and people.

On Break

Players who are not currently working are "On Break". Players can get this status by walking into their house (with the exception of the manager). Unfortunately, players who are on break do not get paychecks.

Houses

When a player joins the game, they are automatically given a house which they can customize. The house saves automatically, and if a player has played before, their house will be loaded. Otherwise, they will get a free default house.
There are twelve houses on the map, divided into three sections: A, B and C. The player's house will be placed into a random available location on one of these three streets. Any houses which aren't occupied by actual players will be vacant until a new player joins.
There are many ways to customize a house. Players can change the color of their house's walls, roofs, doors, and windows, and can also buy furniture from the in-game Catalog which they place wherever they want in their house. Additionally, certain upgrades like backyards and garages can be bought using R$.
Houses start off very small, but over time they will upgrade themselves automatically. As players spend time in the game, the progress will slowly increase until it reaches 100%, and the house will automatically expand. The progress can be checked by clicking the house icon at the top of the screen. There is no way to bypass the time requirement unless you are willing to spend robux on the instant three-story house upgrade.
This is a list of all the houses you can get through upgrading. Note that the only type of house you can buy with robux are the two-story and three-story upgrades. There is no way to buy the medium-sized homes.
1. Compact House: This house is the default home, which is very compact.
2. Small House: The house will be bigger by a few spaces, enabling more items to be put.
3. Medium House: The house will be turned into a much, larger house, with space to put extra walls. That's what a vacant house looks like.
4. Large House: This is just like the second one, making the house larger.
5. Two Story House: This house is slightly bigger than the 4th one, with a second floor added. This house can be skipped to by paying R$300.
6. Three Story House: The final upgrade of the house. It's bigger than the 5th one, because it has a third floor. You have to pay 20,000 Moneyz for this house, or buy it for R$460. There is no way to normally upgrade to this house.
7. (GAMEPASS) Backyard: Gives you a backyard for your house which you can put Backyard Only furniture. Backyard can be used only with three story houses.
8. (GAMEPASS) Garage: Adds a garage that you can spawn in locked cars and any paint on a car will stay on, even if you generate a new car.

Shop (Catalog & The Dump)

Since the homes of new players have nothing in them, they are encouraged to customize their homes by buying furniture from the store, using in-game Moneyz which they earn from completing their jobs. The shop can be accessed through either the in-game Catalog at the top of the screen or by going to the building known as "The Dump", where there is furniture with lowered price.
The catalog contains hats, gear, furniture, etc., which can be purchased with in-game Moneyz. Once you buy something from the catalog, in order to use it or place it in your house, you must use the add tool (large green plus sign, usually the first tool). Use the remove tool (red minus sign) to remove furniture.
At "The Dump", you can find special discounts on items that would otherwise cost you the full price in the Catalog. There are also two clerks who can help you change the color of parts of your house for a small Moneyz fee.

Community

The community of Work at a Pizza Place isn't a very good one at best, as you will usually not get much money because most players have one of these traits:
  • Wealthy: Instead of playing the game, they pay R$ to get everything.
  • Party Man: Instead of working, they spend all their time saying "Party at my house!" and having a party.
  • Bad Manager: More often than not the manager will only give Employee of the Day and bonuses to their friends instead of people who are actually working, they also vote everyone for ban for no reason and spend time in their friends houses partying instead of working in Pizza Place.

Employee Benefits

The manager has the power to hand out employee benefits to hard-working employees. There are two kinds of employee benefits: bonus checks and Employee of the Day.
Bonus checks can be handed out by the manager for hard work. These are blue, 150 Moneyz checks which can be cashed instantly. There is a 10-minute cooldown for handing out bonus checks.
Employee of the Day is a highly sought-after award that managers may appoint an employee for. The employee of the day is commemorated with a golden plaque of their avatar in cashier and delivery rooms. There is a 15-minute cooldown between selecting employees of the day.

Tips

  • Take advantage of Double Time. During Double Time, which happens once a day, every delivery is worth twice as much as it normally would (for example, normally a pizza is worth $14, but during Double Time it is boosted to $28). If everyone does their jobs right, there is an insane amount of money that can be made in a very short amount of time. It is possible to have $1000+ paychecks if the employees all work together, so pay attention to when Double Time happens and do your best to complete as many orders as possible. A good way to succeed that is saving each order in the tooltray and when Double Time comes, run and deliver them all!
  • Do your job well. The pizzeria depends on everyone doing their job. If even one job is not done right, the entire pizza chain breaks, and everybody (including you) will not be paid.
  • Do the jobs that need to be done. Don't make your coworkers work two or three jobs. If you see a job that isn't being done, try to help out there - even if you haven't done the job before. They are all easy to learn and it's a good experience.
  • Don't overcrowd a job. If too many people are doing one job, they will all fight over it and there won't be anyone doing other jobs. Nobody gets paid if pizzas are not delivered, and to make, bake, box and deliver a pizza requires everyone. Each job is equally important, and if any of them aren't done, nobody will be paid.
  • Report trolls. If you see trolls that are messing up the pizzeria, ask the manager to vote-kick them. This way, everyone can vote to have them removed from the game.
  • Don't hesitate to vote to remove managers that are lazy, rude and abusive. Too many managers get away with doing nothing, partying with their friends all the time, or even abusing the employees and being rude to them. Encourage your coworkers to help you remove managers that don't deserve their position.
  • Don't abandon your job to fight over the manager position. Being the manager isn't actually as fun as it sounds, since they don't earn any more money than the other workers and they can't do certain jobs if they want to remain manager. Also, due to the previous manager, often times new managers have to wait a long time to start making use of the employee benefits they can give.
  • Leave the server if it's infested with trolls or abusive people. This might sound counter-intuitive, but if a server is full of people trolling, not working, or being abusive, feel free to switch to a less dysfunctional server. It doesn't make any sense to waste your time dealing with other players who obviously don't actually want to play the game. Try to join a server where you can feel good about working until the next paycheck.
  • If no one is doing a particular job, you aren't going to make as much money. Many people have complained about working hard on one job for the whole day, and not actually get a good paycheck for their work. The pay is based off how many pizzas you deliver (usually at a rate of around 10 dollars a pizza). If you are a cook and you make all the orders of pizza the cashiers sent to you, you are not going to get much money if no one boxes your pizzas and delivers them. This is why it is important to work at a team.
  • If both trucks are lost and you can't find them, don't worry. You can still get the supplies to the pizzeria, even without them. There are two ways to do that; go and take them on feet, one at a time, or take 3 supplies at a time, two pushing with your car and the other holding it. It's really effective when the trucks are gone!

Glitches

Second Story Glitch

If you have two-story house, and your second story is furnished, when you rejoin on second story furniture will get moved. It does not happen to every player.

Ingredients Factory Trap

If you jump on a corner of the conveyors, you will be stuck in a big room (this only applies to the older version of the supply factory, which has been reinnovated. This glitch is no longer present).

Oven

If you stand next to the oven you will be sucked into the oven and baked to death. Use the Reset or wait until you die and respawn. This is more of an Easter Egg Dued1 has added.

Houses

Sometimes, if you join in a server that has lots of players in it, your house will loose all its furniture and stuff. How the glitch works is when you go into a game with many people, the game isn't quick enough to load your whole house into a house of a player that just left a fraction of seconds ago, so the house template remains visible until you leave the game.

Truck

This is a really annoying/fun glitch. If you leave the boxes not welded in your truck, the wheels go crazy and the truck flings away from the map with you in it.

Pizzas on the roof

This glitch isn't technically a glitch, but isn't supposed to happen. When dragging a pizza in the boxing area, it might disappear. The pizza does not disappear, but actually goes on the roof. This is why you see pizzas on the roof if you have a hang glider or something else.

Flying

If you spam the "Trip" emote via the Emotes menu and hold space or use a Grapple Gun into a car/truck, you'll start flying. This trick had once been used to get to the secret island at the west end of the map (which is no longer available).

Time Gear

If you will buy watch in Catalog for 6000 Moneyz, you can move cars and trucks to other players houses. Sometimes the car or truck will get flinged, making loud engine sound with high pitch and killing you.

Easter eggs

[Collapse] Click "Expand" to view spoilers
Old: 1. If you fly to the the west end of the map with a hang glider, you might find an island. The island includes an old version of The Dump employee, trees, and an angry turtle. That island has been deleted and is no longer available.
2. If you drive the boat/swim all the way to the south-east end of the map, you will find an island that looks pretty different from the previous one (at the west end in the older version of the game).
3. If you go in the same (south west) direction as the former first secret island, there is a giant red snake hidden in the water. Current: 1. On the North West part of the game (near the edge of the water), there is a rocky island that has many trees and a fish/shark that kills if you touch the mouth. 2. There is another island but on the reverse side of the game (South East) that has a shelter, homeless person and a jungle like appearance. </gallery>
